We have enjoyed raising and using our horses for all types of ranch and arena work. Each and every one of our animals are given a job. Our philosophy is to use our horses in the pasture, not motorized ATV’s. This is a true test for any animal.
Each of our 5 children have used our horses in the arena. The boys have all team roped or calf roped and the only girl has a passion for running barrels and poles. We have even rode and won on our horses at team pennings and ranch rodeo’s. This is where our horses show their athletic ability and speed. Some of our horses, their sires and dams have competed at all levels of rodeo including 4-H, High School, Little Britches and SDRA at local, state and national competitions. In 2000, one of the boys requested to fulfill their desire to Cut at the High School level. In our search for the perfect Cutting Horse, we purchased our Stallion, Comos Cottoneye. Over the past three years he has excelled not only in the Cutting Pen, but that as a breeder. His double bred Doc Bar/Son of a Doc breeding gives him cow sense and a disposition that is A-1 quality which is passed to his offspring. He is a subscribed Stallion to the Dakota Classic Cutting Futurity for South Dakota. As a finished Cutting horse he has achieved his National Cutting Horse Association COA (Certificate of Ability). He has won the 2001 SD Cutting Horse Association $1,000 Novice Horse Class, and placed 2nd in the $20,000 Non-Pro Class. He has Cut at the SD State High School Rodeo Finals and NCHA competitions.
Over the years we have built our broodmare band to what it is today. We have focused on the Freckles Playboy, Ciderwood, Driftwood, Dash for Cash, Peppy San Badger, Colonel Freckles, Leo, On the Money Red, Watch Joe Jack, Gay Bar King, King Fritz, Little Hickory Sap, Easy Jet, Vanzi Bar, Doc Bruce, Holly Gold Pep,Uno Sonita, Poco Tivio, Poco Tuck, Joe Reed II, Tonto Bars, Sugar Bars, Smooth Herman, Big Step bloodlines. Our goal is to produce horses that are above average in looks and brains. Once you’ve seen our program, we’re sure you’ll want one to fit your needs or maybe you have a mare that you would like to bred to our stallion.
